1. What is ECS?

The Marlin Electronic Communication Station™ (ECS) is a digital signage solution, which provides daily workplace content that is relevant to your business. Connecting via the Internet, ECS retrieves professionally created content covering key workplace issues such as safety, quality, productivity, teamwork, morale and more. It also displays national news and sports as well as your local 3-day weather forecast. Additionally, ECS enables you to easily create your own in-house custom content. ECS is typically displayed in a common area such as a break room or cafeteria where employees congregate. The combination of fresh content, lively graphics, industry-relevant messages and your important in-house information engages your employees and gets them focused on your key issues.

2. Can I play my own content?

Yes. ECS offers a user-friendly interface that makes it easy to create your own in-house custom content. You can upload content such as photos, memos, PowerPoint presentations, Excel charts, video and websites.

3. Do I have to supply the screen?

Marlin offers a turnkey solution including the display system, installation, warranty and the program subscription. While this is the most popular option, you can elect to provide your own screens assuming that their native resolution is 848x 480, 1360x768, or 1366x768.

4. Who maintains the equipment?

The Marlin Company does not have any means for maintaining an ECS computer once it leaves our facility. As such, the clients are responsible for maintenance. To facilitate this, we have configured the ECS computer to obtain any critical operating system patches on a daily basis.

5. Can ECS handle multiple locations?

Yes. ECS can scale to multiple locations in one facility or multiple facilities around the country. Depending on the nature of the content you wish to display, you may need to display the same material in all locations, different material in each location or a combination of both. ECS provides that flexibility.

6. How long does it take to get set up?

Three to five weeks, assuming that an Ethernet connection and electrical outlets are in place at the installation site.

7. How much time will it take us to administer the program?

The time it takes to administer ECS varies by subscriber. The program can be completely self-running with the wide variety of fresh, industry-specific content that Marlin supplies in your monthly subscription. Or you can take advantage of the custom capability and post your own content. We make it easy and efficient for you to do so because you can access the program from anywhere with an Internet connection, whether you are in the office, on the road or at home. For those subscribers using the custom feature capabilities, the average time spent is 1 hour per month.
